Custom web application development

Business systems, customer portals, and integrations built around your workflows. New applications and the next stage of existing ones.

Software that fits your workflows

Custom development makes sense when your business rules, data, or integrations no longer fit the tools you have. The starting point is the work people need to do and the systems they already use.

  • Internal systems: projects, scheduling, stock, reports, and approvals.
  • Customer and partner portals: accounts, requests, orders, and shared information.
  • Ordering platforms: configurable products, pricing rules, payments, and delivery.
  • Integrations: connections between your application, ERP, CRM, payment services, and other platforms.

You may need a new application, changes to an existing one, or a staged replacement of older software. We can assess what is worth keeping before deciding what to rebuild.

Application work in practice

These projects show different kinds of application work and different roles within a team. Each case explains my contribution and the project’s current stage.

Laboratory management ERP

Front-end development and selected back-end work

A staged rewrite of three legacy Windows applications into one Angular web ERP for a laboratory company of around 100 employees. My work includes scheduling, report generation, controlled documents, and AI-assisted checks.

JewAge genealogy platform

Hands-on development and team leadership

Development of the original platform and its current rebuild with Laravel, React, and PostgreSQL. The work moves a heavily customized legacy system toward a responsive application that can be maintained and developed further.

Configurable food-ordering platform

Long-term development as a subcontractor

A shared platform serving around 200 client businesses, with complex menus, product builders, and around 50 integrations. Most site-specific customization is managed through settings rather than separate codebases.

How we work together

1. Define the first useful scope

We discuss the users, workflows, existing systems, and constraints. I help turn that into a scope, technical approach, and estimate. For inherited software, this may begin with a paid technical review.

2. Build and review

Development is organized into stages that we review together. I work hands-on, handle technical decisions, and involve trusted developers or specialists where the project needs them.

3. Launch and continue

We plan deployment and handover as part of the project. Your repository, accounts, and hosting remain under your control. Further development and maintenance can continue as requirements change.

Work directly with Eugene Mednikov

I’m the founder of MCD. I’ve worked in software development since 1999 and run MCD since 2010. On MCD projects, I take responsibility for the technical approach, difficult implementation, and review.

You work directly with me on requirements and delivery. I bring in trusted developers and specialists when the project needs additional expertise.

Technology and mobile

Recent application work includes Laravel/PHP, React, Angular, .NET, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server. The choice depends on your requirements, existing systems, and plans for maintenance.

If the project also needs a mobile app, we can scope it separately using React Native and a shared backend.

Start with your project or existing system

Send a short description of what you need to build or change, who will use it, and which systems it needs to connect to.

For an existing application, we can start with a paid technical review. You receive a written assessment of what can be fixed, what may need rebuilding, and the costs involved. We agree on the scope and fee before work starts. If we proceed with the project, the review fee is credited toward it.

Your project’s code, accounts, and hosting remain under your control. Handover includes the repository and what is needed to deploy and continue development.
